Lake Ridge Community rowing will run a juniors competitive sculling camp
this summer at Oxford House on the Prince William side of the Occoquan. The
program is for Junior boys and girls with at least one year of rowing
experience. Sculling experience is NOT required. The program will run from
21 June to 9 August. Practice times will be 6:00am until 8:am Monday
through Friday and Saturday morning. There are two scheduled races, The
Philly youth regatta on 17 July and the Canadian Henley regatta which runs
from 2 August through 8 August. The number of seats available is 6-10 per
coach so we expect the group to be small. We will be practicing in 4Xs,
2Xs and 1Xs.
The camp fee is $400. The fee pays for the Coach's salaries, racing
uniforms, and boat usage. The fees DO NOT cover regatta entry fees and
travel expenses, Regatta fees and travel expenses will be the
responsibility of the athlete.
Camp requirement: Rowers must have completed one year of rowing to take
part in the camp. Rowers must have a valid passport to be able to travel
to Canada and must be available for the Henley. Rowers must be able to
attend practice as scheduled.
Registration: Please register by contacting the coach's.
Girls please contact the girls coach: Brian Tassi at crewcoach@peoplepc.com
Boys please contact the boys Coach: Pete Haberkost at haberkost@yahoo.com
I will be at the coach's meeting this weekend and at Nationals if any has
