Coaching Opportunities!

Lake Braddock Crew, located in Burke, Virginia, has a need for assistant coaches for the 2010-2011 scholastic crew season. Practices are held in the afternoons beginning in late November 2010, for winter conditioning, and concluding in late May at the culmination of the scholastic racing season. Winter conditioning practices are held at Lake Braddock Secondary School; spring practices (on the water) are held at Bull Run Marina, in Clifton, VA. Successful candidates will have commitment to and passion for the sport and inspire athletes to perform at their highest potential. Additional duties include: planning and running efficient practices, developing athlete technique and fitness, and preparing squads for racing. Coaches are also expected to attend all races, staff meetings, and recruiting events. USRowing coaching certifications, or the ability to obtain them, is required. CPR and First Aid training is also highly recommended. Previous collegiate rowing experience and coaching experience is not necessary but highly recommended. All candidates must also pass Fairfax County school system background check and TB test. We provide a competitive salary based on experience; recent college graduates and current collegiate rowers are encouraged to apply. "James Madison High School Crew in Vienna, VA is looking for Assistant Coaches for the upcoming 2010-2011 season.  This past year the Warhawks rowed their most successful season in team history with the Men's Lightweight 8 winning a silver medal at Virginia Champs; the Men's Novice 8, Women's Novice 8, and Women's Lightweight 4 winning gold at Virginia Champs; the Women's Lightweight 4 receiving All-Met recognition as the best boat in that category; the Women's Junior 8 finishing fourth at the Stotesbury Cup (best finish in team history), and the Women's Junior 8 winning silver at Nationals (first National's medal in team history). The Langley Crew Booster Club (LCBC) in McLean Virginia has open positions for coaches and assistant coaches at both the Novice and Varsity levels. Positions are part time in the afternoons starting with the 2011 season. Salary is competitive and based on coaching experience, training, certification, and years as a rower/coxswain. - a 50 year old program in Arlington, VA- is in immediate need of an assistant coach for the 2010 season. Successful candidates will have drive and passion for the sport and inspire athletes to perform to their full potential. Practices are held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM daily, Monday through Friday, at the Anacostia Community Boathouse in Washington, DC. Additional duties include, the ability to: Plan and run efficient workouts - Set practice and race lineups, develop rower fitness and technique, and prep crews for racing - Attend races, meetings, and recruiting activities - US Rowing certifications, or the ability to obtain certifications required. Successful candidates will have the ability to: Plan and run efficient workouts - Set practice and race lineups, develop rower fitness and technique, and prep crews for racing - Attend races, meetings, and recruiting activities - Have drive and passion for the sport and inspire athletes to perform to their full potential.
US Rowing certifications, or the ability to obtain certifications required. Must pass county school system background check and TB test. Mandatory county classes also required for your first year, and more in-depth classes required after 1st year. CPR and First Aid proficiency are all well regarded. Previous college rowing experience and experience coaching high school is a plus. We pay a competitive salary based on experience.
